MEN BECOMING MEN

Posted May 15, 2012

Look for the second Cohort to the Men Becoming Men Bible study as the announcement will be made sometime in July.  The response has been great to the first cohort therefore sparking the need for a second.

God has charged me with a fire shut up in my bones to reach out to Men of God.  This bible study will run for eight (8) consecutive weeks.  Weekly topics include but are not limited to; being better fathers to our children, better husbands for our spouses, improving intimacy, forgiveness, and much much more!  If you are not yet a father or husband, you can still learn from this very intense and intentional study.

There is no charge to attend this life-changing Bible-based study series (donations welcome).  All you will need is your Word, an open heart, and that will equip you for the class.  At the continuation of the eight week study there will be a resolution that each man of God will be asked to sign as a means of holding one's self and each other accountable.

The class will be less than 10 men therefore, providing an intimacy in sharing "real man" issues.  Everything that we study and discuss will have a biblical basis.  Also adding to the the intimacy of the study is that it will be held in my home.  [If you do not know where I live, please text or email me so that I can provide this information].  My contact information is listed on this website.

In the meantime, I need you to pray; pray for God's direction over this very important and very needed study series.  Pray that God will touch the hearts of men that they would be receptive and "Ego" would not prevent their attendance and participation.  Please RSVP your willingness to participate in our second cohort to faulknermininistries07@yahoo.com.

Until then, Be Blessed!

Pre-Destination

Posted March 24, 2012

Pre-Destination: It can be defined as, "God's actions in willing something to a specific result" Dictionary of Theological Terms, 1996.  In the matter of Pre-Destination, one must take into consideration the "Elect of God."  Who are the Elect of God?  The Elect of God are those whom God has chosen to be one of His very own through "Adoption."  While God has chosen certain people to be His Elect, the freedom to choose also is a factor; meaning that while God chose the individual, the individual [with the freedom to choose] must choose God.  From this Doctrine of Pre-Destination I ask you to consider two points of interest:

1. If God chose me (through Election by Adoption) and I chose God - does this mean that everything in my life was already planned out without a whole lot of input from me?  If this is true, where does my freedom to choose come in?

2. Does this school of thought - Pre-Destination, mean that I am pre-destined to be a preacher, a teacher, a coach, etc?  Was there every a choice that had in it? Or was I "willed" by God to make the choices I made.  Further, as I think of both the good and bad that have happened in my life; was it all pre-destined?

Hopefully, this blog creates thought provoking dialogue between you and your peers, pastor, and friends and that as result, you read and study your bible to answer these and other questions that may arise.
